Thanks to Robin for this tasty bit:
Terry Francona went on WEEI this morning to announce that he will be using Curt Schilling out of the bullpen for a few starts after the All Star Break. The plan is to have Schilling do another rehab outing or two in Pawtucket out of the bullpen, then come back and regain his strength in the majors as a reliever, simultaneously allowing the ace to come back to speed on his own timetable and providing another stopgap solution for the bullpen problem. Clearly, this solution pushes Schilling's return off indefinitely, but as Robin said, that's one hell of a bullpen anchor.
